Plastics #1 PET - Bottles and Jars

Clear and all colors of plastic are accepted.

This includes pop bottles, water bottles, juice bottles, salad dressing bottles, etc.

All bottles need to be RINSED AND THE CAPS/LIDS NEED TO BE REMOVED.

If the recyclables are not thoroughly rinsed they will release a noxious odor.

If the caps and lids are not removed the recyclable will not crush when baled and this significantly reduces the bale weight and the amount of recycling that can be loaded onto the truck for transport.

Plastics #1 PET

Produce containers, plastic tubs, and bakery containers.

Bottles and jars are molded differently than open top containers therefore they are processed differently and cannot be accepted.

Plastics #2 HDPE (Colored) - Bottles and Jars

Solid colored plastics.

Laundry detergent bottles, shampoo bottles, vitamin jars, etc.

All bottles need to be RINSED AND THE CAPS/LIDS NEED TO BE REMOVED.

If the recyclables are not thoroughly rinsed they will release a noxious odor.

Plastics #2 HDPE (Colored)

Plastic grocery bags.

You should never bring bundles of plastic bags to be recycled or leave your recyclables in plastic bags. Plastic grocery bags can be recycled at various stores around the community, but are not accepted by Ark Recycling Services. If you are interested in decreasing your collection of plastic bags we have reusable grocery bags that are available for a $5 donation. Plastics HDPE #2 Natural

Milk jugs and other opaque bottles and jars.

All bottles need to be RINSED AND THE CAPS/LIDS NEED TO BE REMOVED.

Aluminum Beverage Cans

Pop cans, beer cans, energy drinks, cat food cans, food containers (sardine cans for example), etc.

All food and pet food containers need to be THOROUGHLY RINSED AND THE PAPER LABELS MUST BE REMOVED!

Containers may be brought to the Baker Street facility for cash Monday through Friday during the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please call for current rates.

Aluminum

Foil, baking pans, etc.

If you have aluminum scrap items like screen doors please contact your local salvage yard for recycling information. These types of items are not accepted at Ark Recycling Services.

Steel Cans

Canned vegetables, soup cans, dog food cans, etc.

It is important that the lids remained partially attached because they are very dangerous when loose in the bins.

All steel cans need to be THOROUGHLY RINSED AND THE PAPER LABELS MUST BE REMOVED!

If the recyclables are not thoroughly rinsed they will release a noxious odor.

Steel

If you have scrap metal please contact your local salvage yard for recycling information. These types of items are not accepted at Ark Recycling Services.

Glass

Brown and Green Glass: Beer bottles, soda bottles, molasses jars, vanilla bottles, wine bottles, etc.

Clear Glass: Spaghetti sauce jars, salsa jars, canning jars, etc.

It is very important the colored and clear glass not be mixed in the bins. Hold your glass recyclable up to the light and if there is any green tint to the glass it should be placed with the brown and green glass.

REMOVE ALL CAPS FROM BOTTLES! The metal caps cannot be recycled.

Glass

No blue glass or window glass or ceramics.

No electronics, computer monitors, furniture, fluids, building materials, etc. If you have questions about whether or not something is accepted please contact us prior to bring it to our facility.

Newspaper, Magazines, & Phone Books

Newspapers and all original inserts, catalogs, magazines, and phone books.

PLEASE DO NOT BUNDLE OR BAG RECYCLABLES. ALL BAGS, TWICE, RUBBER BANDS, ETC. NEED TO BE REMOVED BEFORE THESE ITEMS PRIOR TO PLACING THEM IN THE RECYCLING BINS.

White Paper

White office paper with black and white or colored ink.

White paper can be dropped off inside the Baker Street facility Monday through Friday during the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please shred all confidential documents before bringing them in to be recycled.

Office Pack and Shredded Paper

Pastel colored office paper, envelope, and shredded paper

Third class mail (junk mail)

Office pack and shredded paper can be dropped off inside the Baker Street facility Monday through Friday during the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please shred all confidential documents before bringing them in to be recycled.

No neon or dark colored paper or gift wrap.

Corrugated Cardboard & Brown Paper Bags

Corrugated cardboard typically consists of a fluted corrugated sheet and one or two flat outer boards.

Paperboard

Cereal boxes, cracker boxes, egg cartons, pop and beer boxes, etc.

No pizza boxes due to the food residue and grease.

Packing Peanuts

Clean packing peanuts can be recycling at some local shipping companies, but are not accepted at Ark Recycling Services.
